Dexterity determines your probability of hitting an enemy (along with Strength and your level).
(From Melantus, Community Coordinator Lineage USA on 4/29/2002):
Dex affects your chance to hit, in both ranged and melee attacks. It also affects damage on ranged attacks.
Dexterity determines the damage infliced by a ranged weapon.
DEX has an affect on the amount of damage you cause with your bow. We assume this is analogous to the role of STR in the damage you cause with a melee weapon.
Lineage: The Fact had these results when testing the role of DEX on the damage of bows:

Dexterity determines the Initial ER of your character upon creation.
However the table below can also be used to determine your ER, when you add dex by both spells and items.

Knights get 1 ER every 4 levels
Dark Elf and Elves gets 1 ER every 6 levels
Prince(ss) get 1 ER every 8 level
Mages get 1 ER every 10 level.
Dexterity determines the AC Bonus per level (Calculated using your base Dex).

(From Melantus, Community Coordinator Lineage USA on 4/29/2002):
Your character's DEX does not affect how often monsters hit you.
